Started in 2006 as a carefully curated retail destination for independent and hard-to-find brands from Japan, Europe and the United States, Firmament began as a discreet retail space hidden in a converted loft on the first floor of a residential building in Berlin. Operating as a destination away from mainstream retail, the store quickly gained an international reputation for its distinctive brand selection and uncompromising approach to curation.

Since 2010, Firmament has been located at Linienstrasse 40, 10119 Berlin, in the heart of the city's Mitte district. The company has operated as Firmament Berlin Renaissance GmbH since 2014 and remains a privately held, owner-managed business, still owned and operated by its founder, André Storvoll.

Over the past two decades, Firmament has become internationally recognised for its distinctive edit of contemporary menswear, footwear and lifestyle products. The portfolio combines established names with emerging designers, with a particular focus on Japanese craftsmanship, technical apparel, heritage workwear and timeless design. Alongside exclusive collaborations and limited releases, Firmament also develops its own label, FRMNT.

Today, Firmament is regarded as one of Berlin's leading independent retailers, serving a global customer base while remaining committed to thoughtful curation, authentic brand partnerships and a retail experience that values quality over quantity.
